Stop Spyware Says FBI
Posted by spyware007 on July 11, 2008
Taking a quick check of the FBI website for some helpful hints on computer security we get word from one of their agents in the Cyber Division.
He explains, computer security is a bit like looking after your car:
- “Don’t drive in bad neighborhoods.”
- “If you don’t lock your car, it’s vulnerable (if you don’t secure your computer, it’s vulnerable).”
- “Reduce your vulnerability and you reduce the threat.”
He goes on to identify the following steps you should apply to protect your PC.
- Keep Your Firewall Turned On
- Install or Update Your Antivirus Software
- Install or Update Your Antispyware Technology
- Keep Your Operating System Up to Date
- Be Careful What You Download
- Turn Off Your Computer
And remember, the SpywareStop free trial run will give you the chance to see the scope of any spyware problem you may already have. Seeing is believing. From there it’s easy to know what to do: download and protect yourself.
