Add a DIY Home Alarm to Your SpywareStop Security

Posted by spyware007 on August 11, 2008

This is a short pitstop to check whether you have thought about your home security, or business security – you know, that building that surrounds your PC. While ensuring no nasties get at you through your computer, make sure you cover the other obvious weak spots on your property.

It’s usually doors and windows, including your front door if there are times when you are aloneg working in your store. For home security it tends to be the access points with the older style locks that are targeted, and remember those sliding glass doors and windows are renowned for their vulnerability.

It’s all easy to cover with a motion detector alarm, window and door alarms or a Broan window lock. But there is a whole range of DIY wireless home alarm units to chose from. Take a look and keep in mind, these DIY home alarm options are easy to install, even for the non-handy person.

Stop Spyware Says FBI

Posted by spyware007 on July 11, 2008

Taking a quick check of the FBI website for some helpful hints on computer security we get word from one of their agents in the Cyber Division.

He explains, computer security is a bit like looking after your car:

- “Don’t drive in bad neighborhoods.”

- “If you don’t lock your car, it’s vulnerable (if you don’t secure your computer, it’s vulnerable).”

- “Reduce your vulnerability and you reduce the threat.”

He goes on to identify the following steps you should apply to protect your PC.

  • Keep Your Firewall Turned On
  • Install or Update Your Antivirus Software
  • Install or Update Your Antispyware Technology
  • Keep Your Operating System Up to Date
  • Be Careful What You Download
  • Turn Off Your Computer

And remember, the SpywareStop free trial run will give you the chance to see the scope of any spyware problem you may already have. Seeing is believing. From there it’s easy to know what to do: download and protect yourself.
